Why This Matters

"As someone who is from a smaller town, two hours away from Hawk Hill, coming to Saint Joseph's University was both exciting and an uncertain step for me. It meant leaving behind what was familiar to me for so many years, and taking a chance on a new place that I hoped would eventually feel like home. Thanks to the support of this community and the generosity of the donors who invest in students such as myself, that leap of faith has turned into one of the most meaningful and unforgettable experiences of my life. My motivation to give back comes form a deep sense of gratitude. I have been given opportunites I thought I only could dream of to grow as a student, a leader, and a member of the community that truly values service and connection. Because of this support, I have been able to get involved with organizations such as Alpha Phi Omega, PILOT, and Student Philanthropy, where I have not only developed professionally but also formed lifelong friendships that have shaped my college experience. Giving, to me, is about paying forward the opportunities I've reached. It is about ensuring that other students, especially those coming from smaller towns like mine (shoutout Rutherford, NJ), have the same chance to find their place, get involved, build meaningful relationships, and feel supported along the way. Supporting these causes means continuing to build a community that uplifts one another, both on Hawk Hill and beyond. THE HAWK WILL NEVER DIE!"
