Why This Matters
"I choose to give to the SJU Reading Revolution Corps because I believe every child deserves access to strong literacy support and the opportunity to become a confident reader. Donations to the program help provide high-quality tutoring, instructional materials, and training for our tutors so they can deliver effective, evidence-based reading instruction. This support allows us to expand our reach, strengthen partnerships with local schools and families, and ensure that more students receive the individualized literacy support they need to succeed."
About Campus Ministry - Appalachian Experience
The Appalachian Experience (APEX) is an Ignatian, alternative spring break program focused on service, immersion, and learning about Appalachian history and culture. Participants prepare before Spring Break, then spend a week serving in Appalachia and reflect on their experiences afterward. Since 2019, APEX costs have risen due to transportation, food, and other expenses, with the cost for 2026 estimated at $800 per participant. We hope APEX alumni and friends will help current students access this impactful experience.
