"As both a proud alumna and a member of the Saint Joseph’s University Advancement team, I have the privilege of seeing how philanthropy truly changes lives. I’m especially inspired by the work happening through the School of Nursing and Allied Health and the Francis M. Maguire Art Museum, two areas that reflect the heart of Saint Joseph’s mission: preparing students to serve others while enriching the communities around them. Every day, Saint Joe’s students are preparing to become nurses, caregivers, leaders, artists, and innovators who will shape our communities for years to come. Day of Giving is a moment when the entire Hawk community comes together to support that mission. About Campus Ministry - Appalachian Experience
The Appalachian Experience (APEX) is an Ignatian, alternative spring break program focused on service, immersion, and learning about Appalachian history and culture. Participants prepare before Spring Break, then spend a week serving in Appalachia and reflect on their experiences afterward. Since 2019, APEX costs have risen due to transportation, food, and other expenses, with the cost for 2026 estimated at $800 per participant. We hope APEX alumni and friends will help current students access this impactful experience.
